“Innovation - Growth Engine for Nation - Nice Buzzword but Often Misunderstood”, by Shroff Publication (644 pages with 693 References, Hundreds of Interesting Case Studies, Released on 7 Dec 2014). Download Link (Free): http://www.dharaskar.com/innovation-book-6.html

In most simplified way, this book explains the Inner Dynamics of the concept of Innovation from A to Z. In USA, Innovation supports at least 40 million jobs and contribute 34.8 % US GDP. South Korea, the Top most Innovative country of the World could raise GDP (PPP) per capita to $33140. India is just at $5410 (123rd position in the world). Innovation is must for economic growth & to become developed nation. But in the Innovation Decade (2011-2020), India slipped 10 ranks (76th position) in Global Innovation Index 2014. How to improve this situation? How to introduce the culture of Innovation in India? What are the root causes of poor Innovation Ecosystem in India? What is the importance of Innovation Clusters? What are the best practices all over the world? How to introduce innovation in industry and R&D labs? How to introduce innovation in Academia? How to enhance employability through Innovation Competencies? I would like to answer these question with the help of hundreds of interesting case studies.

I would like to ignite human brain for innovation through this venture. I am sure once you read few pages of this book, you will be in love with this book. It’s for everybody; from industry to academia; from government authorities to office staff; from parents to students; from faculty of medicine or engineering to faculty of Arts; from small scale businessman to corporate house. I have written this book in such way that everybody should be benefited and start thinking creatively. Before my final departure from this world, I would like to see our nation as Developed Nation. It can happen only through Innovation. I am sure, after “Skill India” and “Make in India” the next slogan will be “Innovation India”.

E-Learning Software (Total 8): To develop the Coding Culture
Developed Innovative E-Learning Softwares for Teaching
Computer Engineering Subjects and to develop programming skills

(1994-2007)
Since 1993, he has adopted innovative teaching methodology to change the higher education scenario, when nobody even thought about e-learning technology as a useful means to spread higher education across the globe. He has developed innovative e-learning teaching software of 60 hours duration (uploaded 604 videos) for training of C / C++ language. It took three years for development and another three years for testing. More than 100 books on ‘C / C++’ languages have been referred for developing this software. Thousands of engineering and other students have been trained with the help of this kit and more than 1500 copies of this software are in circulation. This software has reduced the teaching-learning time to 33% and that too with high degree of memory retention rate. The trained students could successfully clear the world toughest Machine Test of ‘C’ language of National Centre Software Technology (NCST) Mumbai. Due to some technical reasons, he could not convert these videos in appropriate format, which are compatible to current systems. In 2021, he got the breakthrough and started the YouTube Channel for enhancing the Programming / Coding Culture of India and uploaded those 604 videos of C and C++ languages. It’s a simulation of C language teacher which could replace the actual teacher in engineering institutes. It’s a unique facility and nowhere available in the world. It has more than 25000 views within just 6 months. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDMHOBgLbMtpaZoy-zwQOjw/playlists

Developed innovative e-learning teaching software and trained thousands of students. Reduced teaching-learning time to 33% with high degree of memory retention rate. The trained students could successfully clear the world toughest Machine Test on C language developed by National Center Software Technology (NCST) Mumbai
3. Computer Graphics: Developed e-learning software for teaching algorithms of computer graphics. To teach 15 algorithms with the help of Blackboard teaching minimum 20 hours are required whereas with the help of new techniques only 2 hours are sufficient. This has optimized the teaching time as well as enhance the memory retention of the students.
4. Artificial Intelligence: Developed the Expert System Shell for teaching Rule Based Expert System and developed many Knowledge Based Systems. In the practical labs, students have developed many complex Knowledge Bases.
5. Microprocessor: The simulations of assembly programs can enhance the teaching-learning process considerably. Thus, Macromedia Flash and Java have been used to develop the visual simulations. It’s a pseudo simulation technique. The simulations have been developed for every important concept and tested over 5 batches of 20 students each. This helps a lot for understanding the data flow inside the microprocessor during the execution of assembly language programs. The feedback of the students exhibit overwhelming response. Following figure shows the simulation of assembly language program using Flash. The students are more interested in running the programs on Microprocessor kit. To solve this problem the Assembler has been developed which generates the .bin and .prn files. The bin file has been supplied to the Simulator, which simulates the 8085/8086 Microprocessor.

The Assembler (AsmMIET2003) translates the assembly language source code into object code or machine code which can be executed by microprocessor. The AsmMIET2003 does its job in three phases i.e. Scan, Pass 1 and Pass 2. For error free assembly programs it generates .bin and .prn files.

To execute the Assembly language programs the Microprocessor kits are required. Students cannot test the Assembly language programs at home. To solve this problem, the Microprocessor Simulation Software has been developed. This software helps to visualize the block diagram of the Microprocessor along with Instructions, Memory address of the instructions, Registers, Flags, Program counter, Stack pointer etc. The program can be executed in two modes i.e. single step and burst mode

6. Data Structure: The Data Structure is difficult core subject for teaching as well as learning. Many algorithm simulation tools are available. Mostly they are based on Java and unable to adopt the recent multimedia technology. Thus, they cannot satisfy the needs of e-learning products. To overcome this problem the Pseudo algorithm simulation technique has been developed. It teaches the algorithms by dividing it into small meaningful units, through animated examples of day to day life, pseudo algorithm simulations for that unit and audio explanations. For doing the simulations it uses the multimedia technology effectively and eases the teaching-learning process. This technique involves the students actively and thus helps to enhance the memory retention process.
7. Web Technology: The Web Technology syllabus contains Markup and Scripting language like HTML, Java Script and XML. To teach Java Script and XML the knowledge of HTML is must. It consumes lot of time. Thus, I have developed HTML movie (5 hours duration) to teach entire HTML scripting language. I have successfully implemented this teaching skim for 5 years.
8. Visual Programming: To teach the Visual Programming techniques the knowledge of Visual Programming language like Microsoft Visual Basic is needed. I have made 5 hours VB movie to cover the elementary knowledge of this subject. In addition to this, I have developed mobile version of this movie.
Software Exibitions: To develp the Coding Culture
(1994-2007)
Software Exhibition is annual event for 3 days (9 am to 7 pm). I took the initiative to start this event in 1994 and lead this event for many years. It is a coding competition. Throughout the year student prepare the software for this event. Normally it attracts more than 2000 visitors. This big events are always inaugurated by Prominent National Leaders and Famous Personalities invited by Hon. Praful Patel, President Gondia Education Society and MIET Gondia. Through these events, we could create Coding Culture at MIET Gondia, which had resulted in global employability of the students. During this period, more than thousand students got the job at prestigious IT Companies. Today, they have occupied many high-profile positions in IT industry across the Globe.

My Favorite Quotes and Beliefs

You Decide Your Own Destiny
Your belief systems (conditioned mind or Sub conscious mind) are responsible for Thought process,
Thoughts decide Feelings,
Feelings are converted in to Actions,
Repeated actions become your Habit,
Habits develop into your Attitude,
Attitude turn into your Personality,
Personality is responsible for your Destiny

Hon. Abdul Kalam said in his biography “Wings of Fire”

He who knows others is learned, but the wise one is the one who knows himself. Learning without wisdom is of no use. ….

Desire, when it stems from the heart and spirit, when it is pure and intense, possesses awesome electromagnetic energy. This energy is released into the ether each night, as the mind falls into the sleep state. Each morning it returns to the conscious state reinforced with the cosmic currents. That which has been imaged will surely and certainly be manifested….

…before anything I wanted could happen, I had to desire it intensely and be absolutely certain it would happen… With faith, you can change your destiny…..
